When you think tagline, picture what comes after your logo. What do you see? Something short and sweet, right? So, your first challenge is keeping it brief but effective.

Try this simple trick formula. Select from the following and combine for a simple, clear, and unique tagline. Use some or all. You decide.

POWER WORD + STRONG VERB/ADJECTIVE + NAME

Power Word

Strong Verb/Adjective

Along with Power comes strength. Picture your Power word as the weight. Your strong verb or adjective lifts the power word higher. Look at Apple’s tagline.

Name

The name is the power behind the strength. But you don’t have to take the literal path of using the business name. The Name portion of the tagline trick can morph into multiple shapes.

  • The name of the business (Nothing runs like a Deere – John Deere)
  • The product or specialty (All the News That is Fit to Print – The New York Times)
  • Or a creative substitute (The Ultimate Driving Machine – BMW)

The tagline is a poster child for keeping business communication simple, clear, and uniquely yours. It can become a quick, powerful editing tool.
