Monday Signals Social Media Kickoff

by | Sep 20, 2010

Monday kicks the week off with hope – and apparently lots of social media.

Daily Blog Tips cites internet studies that show Monday and Tuesday generally receive the highest amount of traffic for blogs.

Hopefully, that means most people enjoy their weekends and are raring to go on Monday.

Monday Morning Quarterbacking

Perhaps Monday signals the opportunity for new strategy and new wins. Keeping with the theme, I am using this Monday to kick off a new structure to Simply stated business.

Recently, I participated in the Ultimate Blog Challenge. I am using the lessons learned from the challenge, which support this blog’s theme: Keep it simple, clear & uniquely yours.

The categories of Simply stated business received a slight makeover. Here is a little bit about each category.

Social Media

It is amazing how much the social media world has changed and continues to change. I am by no means a social media maven, guru, hotshot or whatever self-designated title there is out there.

I suspect I am a lot like many of you:

  • Sometimes confused
  • Occasionally frustrated
  • Often overwhelmed

The social media posts will be about that and more.

I’ll share very basic tips, as there are still many of us who need it simple. And when I do find one of those gurus I like, I’ll share that, too, and hope you do the same.

Health Care

This category is staying the same. I introduced Health Care Tuesday at my health care blog, Simply stated health care. The goal is keeping health care simple & informative.

The topics cover:

  • Health Care Reform
  • Health and Wellness
  • Health Insurance
  • Health Care Legislation
  • Dental

Check it out and let me know what health-related topics interest you.

Business Communication

This category deals with all forms of business communication:

  • Business writing
  • Business presentations
  • Customer service
  • Passion and creativity

The posts may share time with social media. After all, isn’t that what social media is all about – sharing.

Techie Tips

No, I am not a techie either. In some areas, I am a talented amateur-in others, a student, and still others – totally lost.

These posts share tips I’ve learned, experts that know how to keep it simple, and sometimes a frustration or two.

The Friday Lite

Everyone needs a break from solving the problems of the world – as if.

This category is a potpourri of fun, musings and whatever else strikes the fancy. I hope you’ll add yours.

Sunday Night Countdown

Although the schedule could change (I so hate structure), the editorial calendar plan is:

  • Monday – Social Media
  • Tuesday – Health Care
  • Wednesday – Business Communication
  • Thursday – Techie Tips
  • Friday – The Friday Lite

I hope you stop by and share your views. Let’s see if together we can Keep it simple, clear & uniquely yours.

Hi Cathy, I got the same good idea from the Blog Challenge. I have structured each day of the week as a specific theme and that makes it a lot easier for me to keep up with daily blogging—and keeps it simple! I look forward to seeing it how it works for you.

Well great minds think alike, Jeannette. 🙂

I will check out your theme. I agree with you that it will be easier to keep up with the daily blogging and I hope it retains my focus.
