When Technology Leaves You Feeling Deflated

Technology has failed me once again. Deflated balloon

This time it’s not earth-shattering, time-wasting, primal-screaming technology failure. It’s the “best laid plans” type of failure.

Comic Relief

A while back I discovered Bitstrips, where you can create your own comics. You can even design yourself. So I did. There is a Baby Boomer cartoon version of me that you can see here and at other posts throughout this site.

Why didn’t I just add a Baby Boomer comic to this post? Technology failure. Try as I might, the comic creation gremlins took today off.

Not Laughing Now

I had not created a Bitstrip in a while so I was looking forward to it. I thought what better day to share my Baby Boomer humor than Fun Friday.

Technology failure left me feeling deflated. Now what?

Creating More Hot Air

From disappointment comes inspiration. One of the biggest complaints you hear in the blogosphere is the difficulty of finding inspiration for the next post.

I had my inspiration. I would blog about my comic crash. If I couldn’t deliver Baby Boomer humor, I would share my disappointment.

A nice side benefit – I now have two posts – my original idea (that will have to wait until a technology-enabled day) and this post that breathes life into that deflated balloon.

Party Time

Things don’t always go as planned. It sounds so trite to say “make the best of it,” but doing that is harder than you think.

The very thing that failed me today – technology – has made it all too easy to blast my frustration on multiple social media platforms. I could tweet, post, write on a wall, and virtually scream about it everywhere.

Maybe it’s been the hot, hot summer, but it seems there has been a lot of negative posts out there. Maybe it’s because it’s Friday and the weekend is near that I decided not to add to the noise.

I’d rather just blow up that balloon or find a new one and tell myself to lighten up.

May your day be filled with fully-inflated party balloons.
