Simply Stated Business Finds Time for Tinkering

by | Dec 26, 2012

bigstock-classic-toys-18122213What is it about the new year that urges you to tinker with your business?

  • A fresh start?
  • A sense of adventure?

Or knowing you have a whole year to fix it?

Nothing is safe. You tinker with ~

  • Social media
  • Product or service offerings

And if you’re like me – even your blog theme.

Thesis Tinkering

It may not look like much yet, but I finally put Simply stated business on the Thesis theme.

Both my health care and personal blog have the Thesis theme. But, when it comes to my business blog – baby steps. It’s much easier on the heart.

I was not brave enough to try the new Thesis 2.0 – too much of a learning curve.

  • Boxes and
  • Packages

Oh my.

Thesis Thud

So, at this time of the year when much of the world is sleeping, let the tinkering begin. I already managed to crash my site with a parse syntax error.

I’ve either been hitting the eggnog too much or this head cold I have blanketed a few brain cells. I didn’t even freak out.

  • It labeled it unexpected
  • Well, duh

Evolution

You’ll see features gradually evolve. My Free Stuff has been a popular place this past year.

If you haven’t visited the freebie section, check it out. You can find the following.

  • Word lists to help your business writing
  • Checklists for organizing and improving your business writing
  • Marketing ideas and tools for your business
  • Social media how-tos
  • Techie stuff at a VERY basic level

I hope to give Free Stuff a new look and develop more freebies throughout 2013. I would love your feedback on what you’d like to see.

If you run across any funky mishaps (a WordPress technical term), please let me know.

What are you tinkering with in 2013?

Share your plans in Comments.

P.S. How many of you know what those are in the photo image? Careful. You might be dating yourself.

Looks really good so far Cathy.

I use Thesis for all of my sites, but I’m sticking with 1.85 for now.

Time to poke around on the freebies page!

Thanks, John. It’s definitely a work in progress. I, too, am sticking with 1.85 although I’m having some issue on my personal blog that I can’t seem to find what the problem is.

You always have good ideas, John, so let me know if there is any kind of freebie you’d like to see. Thanks for dropping by.

I’ll be tinkering with my client balance in 2013. I’d like to add more corporate clients to the mix, maybe some ghost blogging. And as always, I want to venture into new magazine markets.

A happy, healthy and prosperous 2013 to us all!
