Towards the end of 2010, LinkedIn® rolled out its Company Pages to small and large businesses alike.
If you are a small business owner like me, you may think the new feature is for the big boys only.
- That’s not the case – the newer feature is for sole proprietors as well as large companies
- Consider setting up a Company Page for your business
- It is available to all users, including those with the free Basic account
My Company Page is a work-in-progress, but here is a brief video on some of the highlights.

I do have a LinkedIn company page, Cathy, and I’ve found it a useful way of explicitly highlighting some of the services I offer. The feature that’s missing, in my opinion, is the ability to transfer recommendations from your main profile to your company page. I’ve got 18+ recommendations of my work on my profile but have had to get new ones so the company page doesn’t look too bare.
Hi Sharon: I totally agree with you on the recommendations. Honestly, I haven’t even attempted to ask for new ones yet because it’s such a pain for our clients.
Thanks for weighing in. I’ll have to check out your Company Page for ideas. 🙂
