What Lasting Impression Does Your Business Communication Leave?

by | May 11, 2022

Lasting impression postFirst impression matter. However, it’s the lasting impression that could spell success or failure.

  • If your business always ran smoothly, maintaining a good impression is pretty simple.
  • But stuff happens.
  • Like a little thing known as a global pandemic.

Do something positive to leave a good lasting impression with your business communication. The following shares 20 ideas for doing just that.

Creating a Lasting Impression

What are the business encounters you remember? Unfortunately, it is often the negative experience that leaps into our mind. I bet not many of you thought of a really slick ad you saw.

  • Business communication is more than the ad you place or the business blog post you write.
  • It is each contact you have –
  • Online or on paper, in person or on the phone.

While stuff does happen, you can steer the customer reaction when the stuff hits the fan.

A good lasting impression starts with good habits.

20 Communication Tips

Customer relations is all about trust. If your customer knows she can count on you, she will be more understanding when that stuff happens. Provided, of course, you act to make it right.

So, think about the following 20 tips as a brick-by-brick construction of a supportive wall built on trust. One that will last a long time.

The original 2015 post captured the 20 tips in a Slideshare presentation. Because of the incompatibility problems with some browsers, I converted the slides into an ebook.

The Table of Contents shows the list of 20 tips (without the examples) and I also created the illustration below to list the 20 tips.

Communication Tips Options

    1. Scan the illustrated tips above without all the detail.
    2. You can download a PDF version of the ebook.
    3. Or use the flipbook format (click on this link for access: NOTE: I recommend using the navigation arrows to the right. The bottom navigation is automated and does not allow enough time to read the content – something I wish Designrr would fix!).

We love options, right?

Note: In 2015, SSB took a year-long alphabetic journey for better business communication. Each post contained an A-to-Z topic for creating better business communication. This ā€˜Lā€™ post originally published on June 22, 2015, and this May 11, 2022 version updates it. The plan is to update each alphabetic post. Hopefully, it will not take a year to complete. šŸ˜Š

The last slide of the presentation (#51) has the 20 Tips listed (not the examples). Is that what you mean, Anne?
